Convergent Software works closely with RFID-related standards and develops data encoding and privacy compliance software to support and encourage the correct use of RFID.
Our software is designed to address the following functions:
Encoding simulators for specific application standards to enable pre-planning of data requirements against tag availability for proof of concept evaluation at a reasonable cost. This software can also be used as a benchmark by developers to ensure that compliant encoding is achieved for the application.
Encoding software for use in production environments.
Decoding software for use in production environments.
Diagnostic software to verify that encoded data is correct for an application standard, or analyse and report on errors found in the encoded bytes.
Component tool sets available to integrators and other developers for functions such as data compaction to the ISO/IEC 15962 rules.
We are interested in development programmes with solution providers for any RFID application standard.
Our products support two major standards making organisations that define rules for encoding on RFID tags: ISO
and GS1 EPC. The EPC standard currently determines a set of unique item identifiers, expressed as various EPC
codes that require to be encoded in the Class 1 Generation 2 RFID tag (also known as ISO/IEC 18000-63).
The ISO standards are more generic and support multiple sectors. The encoding rules are defined in ISO/IEC
15962, together with application commands in ISO/IEC 15961. These ISO data encoding rules support a number of
different ISO/IEC 18000 series of air interface protocol standards at Low Frequency, High Frequency, UHF,
near-Microwave, and for active tags
Currently we support encoding and decoding for the following tag types:
ISO/IEC 18000-3 Mode 1
Our products will support additional encoding and RFID technology standards as these are developed.
